RATLINGATE CAMP 2019!

Our Y4 experience is designed as a very simple introduction to the outdoors.  For most children, it is their first time away from home without their parents.

How do we keep the price so low?
1.  We save an immense amount of money by using our teacher's own specialisms.  As they are being paid anyway, parents in effect get free outdoor instructors for three days.  Mr Hodgson has his Forest School accreditation (2 yrs of training required).  He and Miss MacArtney are both qualified to instruct archery.  Finally, I am an SPSA climbing instructor (as well as your headteacher!)
2.  The camp is just ten minutes away so transport costs are kept to a minimum.
3.  Ratlingate is a scout camp, designed for being used by children and as scout groups are not flush with funding, it is excellent value for money.

What is the difference between Ratlingate (Y4) and Robin Wood (Y5)?
Chalk and cheese! Robin Wood is a specialised outdoor centre with seven or eight main activities for your child per day!  There is an army of specialist instructors who manage to fit a weeks worth of outdoor activities into three days - and they are cheaper than other outdoor centres..  The building has been purposefully adapted for primary aged school children and there is 24hr 'round the clock' cover from the Robin Wood staff.  Please look at the Y5 Robin Wood photos to see what an amazing experience it is - and cheap at the price.  Robin Wood is the best outdoor centre I know in the UK and I hope all Y5 children experience it.
