One Cumbria SCITT offers both Primary and Secondary programmes.
One Cumbria Teaching School Hub will continue to deliver exceptional school-based primary and secondary teacher training across Cumbria.
The One Cumbria programme offers a one year PGCE with QTS.

Senior Teaching Assistant

Newlaithes Junior School is a friendly, inclusive and ambitious school situated in the heart of Carlisle. We are looking to appoint an experienced, skilled and motivated Senior Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated support team and help us provide high-quality learning experiences for all children.
The successful candidate will work across the school to support individuals and groups of children, including those with additional needs. The role will involve delivering interventions, supporting classroom learning and contributing to a positive school environment.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent)
- Experienced in supporting children’s learning in KS2
- Skilled in delivering interventions and supporting children with a range of needs
- Calm, caring, flexible and enthusiastic
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Committed to inclusive practice and continuous professional development
- Willing to play a full and active part in the wider life of the school
